Masterpiece Women's Retreat-May 2011-Lakeview Baptist Camp

I was honored to speak at the Masterpiece Women's Retreat hosted by TCC Family Church. Pastor Sallie asked each speaker to choose one woman from the Bible, study her life of faith, and share with the group what we learned from her journey. I chose Ruth, and I discovered a beautiful picture of redemption and a type-and-shadow of OUR "kinsman redeemer"-Jesus. I used paintings projected on the wall to illustrate the story of Ruth as I taught. At one point I was overwhelmed by the anointing as I saw a picture displayed on the wall behind me of Naomi holding Obed as a young baby. The picture was a portrait of how powerfully God moved on Ruth's behalf due to her complete devotion and obedience. Ruth's faith brought restoration to her family, especially to her mother-in-law Naomi. Please take a moment to read or re-read the book of Ruth! God is so gracious and merciful that if we are willing to surrender everything to Him, and trust Him completely, He will bring about all that He promised! Redemption was the theme of the Book of Ruth, and it led me to speak about our redemption through the precious Blood of Jesus. Other ladies shared the stories of Rahab, Esther, and Sarah. A common thread connected all of the biblical women we studied--faith and courage. Each one was a shining example of a woman God can use in a mighty way! It was a refreshing time. We laughed, scrap-booked (one spread for each woman of the Bible), and enjoyed the Word. There was such a sweetness of His presence there.

The Connection-Church on the Rock-Texarkana, Texas

Josh led worship for the 20's church at Church on the Rock this past Thursday. Joe and Autumn Dawson are The Connection pastors. At the same time, Travis and Whitney Jackson, the youth pastors from COTR were holding a youth meeting at Texas High across town. Yes, Texas High! Doors are opening for ministry at public schools, Texarkana College, and Texas A&M University. We know that we have been divinely connected to Joe, Autumn, Travis, and Whitney. They are on fire and truly want to see this city transformed! I cannot wait to see what God does in this city through young people.

Chosen Generation-24 Hours in His Presence Conference 2011-Liberty, Texas

For 24 hours over January 7-8, 2011 we fasted, worshiped, prayed, and received the Word! It was an amazing time in His presence at Cornerstone Church in Liberty, Texas. The crowd included students from Pastor Mike Glazener's School of the Spirit and adult and student leaders from many churches who have been divinely connected to us. Josh spoke to the group gathered there on Saturday morning. His message encouraged us to follow the Holy Spirit and to seek to do His will daily. It was an anointed and challenging message. We also heard from Pastor Mike Glazener who moves mightily in the Holy Spirit. He reminded us that flowing in God's glory includes ministering to those around us everyday at school, work, and during our routine tasks in our community. Pastor Tracy Harris spoke about the condition of our hearts. Are we ready to receive what God has for us?

Between the services we were able to spend a much needed time of laughing and fellowship and with great friends including Eddie and Ella Presnull(I know we live in the same town...but we have to go out of town to spend time with them!), Candice Presnull, Rob and Teresa Diaz, Susann Harris and Josh Whatley, Jacob Harris and Elise Bradley, Pastor Mike and Laurie Glazener, Ashley McDaniel, and the Redfearn family just to name a few !

Josh also led worship with the Impact Band for each of the services. God spoke to us about the future and strengthened us once again!
